This past week our crew at AGU Roofing & Solar was out in Apopka, FL working on a full roof replacement for a homeowner. The house had an older roof that had gone through one too many Florida storms, and it was time for a complete tear-off and a brand-new system.

We started early in the morning, pulling off every layer of the old shingles and underlayment until the roof deck was completely exposed. A project like this always tells a story — you can see the years of wear and tear right there in the wood. Once the surface was cleaned up and checked for any weak spots, we got to work installing fresh sheathing where it was needed, making sure the base was solid.
From there, we rolled out the underlayment. This part doesn’t always get noticed, but it’s one of the most important steps. Florida homes need that extra protection against heavy rain and humidity. With the new underlayment in place, the home was already far better prepared than before.
